7. Coasters
Air dry clay coasters are practical and decorative items you can easily make at home. You will need clay, a rolling pin, circular cutter or freehand shaping tools, and paint or varnish for finishing. Coasters can be simple or decorated with patterns, textures, or designs.
Begin by kneading the clay until soft. Roll it out to about half a centimeter thick. Cut circular shapes using a cutter or shape by hand. Smooth the edges and add patterns using stamps, tools, or household items. Allow the clay to dry for 24–48 hours.
Once dry, sand the edges and paint with waterproof acrylic paint. Apply a clear varnish to protect the coaster from water and stains. Handmade clay coasters make great home accessories or gifts. They are lightweight, easy to clean, and can be customized to match your interior décor.
