- DIY Painted Flower Pots
Painted flower pots are both creative and educational. Kids can learn about plants while decorating their own small pots. Dollar Tree sells small clay pots, acrylic paint, paintbrushes, and small seed packets.
Start by covering your table and placing pots upside down on newspaper. Make sure the pots are clean and dry before painting. Give each child a set of paints and brushes. Let them choose their own colors and designs. They can paint patterns, flowers, rainbows, or even write their names.
After painting, allow the pots to dry completely. This may take a few hours. Once dry, fill the pot with soil and plant seeds. Water lightly and place the pot in a sunny area.

This project teaches responsibility as children take care of their plants. They learn patience by watching the seeds grow over time. It also builds creativity and gives them something meaningful to care for daily.
